Air bag light

Air bag light

Hi just been to do weekly shop and the airbag light has started to flash any ideas as to what the problem may be?

Check the orange connectors under the two front seats, these have a tendency to work apart, especially if you wedge anything under the seats.

Yep what Foggy said. Cut the connectors off and solder or wrap wires together for a permanent fix and no it won't set the airbags off 8)

Take the battery off first or you maybe in for a suprise airbag test :)

Nope you don't need to do that - has nothing to do with the firing mechanism :cheesy:

Hi thanks for all your replys did as you said gave connections under the seat a wiggle and done 100 miles today and no sign of the airbag light apart from when starting the car.

ive got the same problem which ive tried to rectify several times but its only ever been temporary so i really need to rejoin the wires somehow any ideas and ive also always disconnected the battery is this not a wise precaution??

Only thing I can suggest is thoroughly cleaning the connectors with a contact cleaner, the airbag light is one problem I've not had with my car so I'm not sure what else you could do.

9 times out of 10 it's the orange one under both seats which controls the seat belt pre tensioners. 8)
