I tried searching for help on this but I'm not sure what I'm searching for, so I thought I'd just ask straight out!
I've just installed a JVC radio in my 53 plate 406. I bought two Autoleads parts PC99-X44 (Peugeot/Citroen Van Bus 08/01>) and PC99-JVC (steering control interface adaptor) mainly for the stalk controls and got the whole thing working yesterday. Steering controls work fine. Happy days.
However, the old unit switched off automatically when I turned off the ignition. This new one doesn't and it's a bit of a pain. So, what have I got to do to sort this out? Wiring direct from the ignition or what? And please go easy on the technical talk - I'm no expert!
Thanks!

Normally you have an ignition sense wire that is at 12v when the ignition is on and 0v when the ignition is off. This is what tells your head unit to switch itself off. If that wire is not present then it wont switch off. Sadly, I don't know which wire it is on the ISO connector block.
Just had a google, this site tells you the different connections for the two ISO plugs.

Its probably got the constant 12v power feed connect to the power in and the switched live. You need to check the wiring, the connector on the 406 with have a switched live, so you should have to run any wires.
A pioneer i have has some connectors in the power wires to allow different configuration in teh connection. If your radio has these i would check them (Yellow = 12 constant, red = switched i think)

Nah foghorn was right - There's two 12v feeds. One is permanent and the other comes on with ignition. Stereos need a permanent 12v to hold memory settings and such, in fact my JVC will also eject discs using it while ignition's off, but it won't do anything else
I'd check the fusebox. The on the D8 the main stereo fuse can be put in a bit lower than the other fuses which causes it to bypass the ignition switch and be permanently live. Other than that if you've got an ISO to JVC adapter for the main connector like I do, it may have some bullet/spade/etc connectors for the power lines which may need adjusting
