D8 2.0 Exec Turbo Estate

Work done:

Rear exhaust section
Rear brake pads+discs+shoes
Front brake pads
Throttle linkage (f***ing upside down balljoint...)
Dashboard bulbs
Ciggie lighter socket
Radwelded the rad
Usual service stuff

Todo:

Cambelt
Rear centre seatbelt
Find out why it's liable to stall when cold

All in all it's been pretty flawless ownership, even though it does 5 figures between oil changes and has gone almost 6 figures on the cambelt. 170k coming up soon...

Y reg 2001 hdi 90 bhp remapped to 120bhp

Owned since 2004 bought at 30k miles. Now done 149k miles.

Work done since owned.-

Front pads+ discs + Rear pads and discs
2 clutches ( rapid wear due to fly wheel warped - But garage did not notice untill wrecked another clutch)
Cambelt and pulleys and water pump.
2x front drop links.
4x rear drop links and 2x rear tie bar links
3X front tyres and 2x rear tyres
1x airmass meter
1x coolent temp sensor
Egr and Turbo solenoid valves
handbrake cable
electric window switch for driver (cost a staggering £90)
Full exhaust
2 fuel filter housings (easily broken)
Dozens of hdi engine cover clips and studs
11 services (do every 10k)

May sound a lot but the car does do 1000 miles a week and has never broke down!! - It is still comfortable and pulls like a train. I have spent in maintanance Approx £1800 in 3 years which is £600 a year but not bad considering it earns me £500 per week.

Current Issues.-

Power loss for last 3 months (but now cured by replacing turno solenoid valve) - shame the garage replaced everything else before this!!
Air-con int works (Pump noisey)
Front tyres low.

Think i can cope with that!!

Well tbh I was running it @ 13 and I had no problem, until trip down to Reading and the oil seals went... so I thought sod it... more boost its buggered now! :D

I'm currently building my own first ever hybrid T25... I have the following parts and will be rebuilding the core this weekend!

T25/T28 Garrett Rebuild Kit
360 Degree Thrust Bearing Kit
Comp Carbon Seal Kit
Comp Staggered Oil seal
Garrett T28 .60 trim Comp wheel

I've been documenting the stripping and will be doing the same for the rebuild and adding it to the KB for other users to view.

So that's why you've not been on here much.

I don't know why you don't build your own engine and turbo set up on the deck ready for an engine swap, forged pistons etc.

Once the blower is done I will move onto the engine that I have... 400hp capable 300hp reliable that's my aim :D
