Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

"K" light indicator. every morning when engine sta

Post by k3nny »

Hi,

i started up my engine this morning. there's a yellow indicator with a letter "K" on it.
usually the "K" indicator goes off when the car is running for maybe 3 - 5 minutes.
then i turned on my AC, it didn't work.

could it be a "KOMPRESOR" warning ;p .... :cheesy:

usually, the RPM goes up a bit whenever i turn on the AC. but now, it didn't.

Another mystery ....

If the K light is on then you will need to take your baby to the Doctors for a check up

I doubt the non working a/c would put the K light on though. Did your condensor radiator get wet in the flood? and could it have been bashed a bit when you fitted your new front end? maybe the a/c has lost refrigerant and is 'locked out' the compressor.

The "K" light is your engine management diagnostics indicator Kenny - it means strange things are afoot with your motor - you need a code reader or a garage that can read and interpet the fault codes to tell you what is a happening :cheesy:

It was wet for sure ... and no, the a/c's compressor were fine. it has done this before the flood. there's something to do with a 'small computer' (said Peugeot's technician).

i gotta to change those things, including some other electrical parts like fuse, cables etc.
