Will our pugs last as long as our Astra van?

I've just had the dubious pleasure of taking my works Astra van for it's bicentennial oil change and thought I would show you how fabulous it is:

Looks like it's had a rough time eh?

And the mileage, Bejesus

It still drives really sweet though

This is the 3rd old skool vauxhall diesel we've taken through the 200,000 miles barrier

the last one, a Corsa D spat it's differential out on the road and we never saw it again

Used to drive the same at work, was a great shifter. Good cornering too

Unlike the high roof convoy full of truck wheels

i had one in my last job, as little vans go there alright. much better than the kangoo things everyone else had.

only had about 50/60k but had just had new turbo before i got it.

Took my last Sprinter a 53 plate to 124k and to put it nicely it was bolloxed. When it got part ex'ed for my new one it had whiney diff, rattely clutch slave cylinder, summat wrong with turbo boost and Merc gave us 10 grand for it againt the new one

idiots. I bet the sales guy got a fookin off his boss when they got it the dealership.

But it looked more cared for than your Astra

ive only ever driven the later 1.7 cdti version and i can safley say it was piece of junk, granted it handled very well, for a van anyway, but the engine was hopeless, torque just didnt seem to exist, but the brakes were pretty amazing too

the 53 plate i had was ok, nothing special much nicer to drive around in that most small vans.

had a combo van (04 or 54 i think) 65bhp one for a few months that wasn't fast when the turbo was spinning, but it was dangerously slow off the turbo and took about 10 seconds to build up the revs enough to spin the turbo. just a awful engine.

I drove an 03 (I think) Astra van. Very impressed with the handling, it drove extremely well and the engine was ok too albeit nothing amazing.

The problem with it was after 10 minutes in it I was in utter agony - I couldn't adjust the seat properly which caused my backache to flare up with vengeance. Unfortunately I had to do a few hundred miles in it.
