noticed today when filling my car that local shell is now selling v-power diesel. Costs 102.9 v 96.9 for normal diesel.
thinking bout trying it, so i did some sums. I reckon i need to get about an extra 4mpg for it to cost the same per mile as the normal stuff. sounds the kind of figure that is possible if it is as good as shell make out.
in theory you could get a little extra from the fuel, slightly better fuel economy from it cleaning the fuel system and producing slightly more power so using less right foot. if your luckily this could add up to to couple of mpg. Would probably need to run 4 or 5 tanks through to see the benefit, especially as i only fill up at the half tank mark.

yours is a D9 being a HDI right? and seeing its a 110 i would of thought it had come with a trip computer as standard????rapport25 wrote:Excellent will be worth looking into. Let me know how you get on? I only run my hdi on shell diesel extra which is the best fuel for my pug. Ideally we could do with someone with a trip computer to compare over a weeks driving slow and hard to give true picture.

I have a trip computer, but tend to calculate the mpg per tank myself and the reset computer everyday.
Probably give it a try for a few tanks see if it make any difference but this will take a few weeks. I use the roughly the same amount/route all the time so any differnce will show itself.
