I really want that engine, even if it has been in a Citroen. And I want the money to pay for it, and I want somewhere to keep it....
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

my conversation with my 'future' wife a few hours ago.

Me: "hon, can i take sum money of our account?"
Mrs: "for what hon?"
Me: "i want to make our life better in the future"
Mrs: "and how will you be able to do that?"
Me: "by buying a legendary engine (Mi16) or a turbo lump from UK"
Mrs: "and what does it do for us?"
Me: "..... make ... our life ... better?"
Mrs: "how ? ..... "
Mrs: ".................. better?"

5 mins later

Me: "can i plz ? ..... "
Mrs: "which one you choose? Mi16 ? or me?"
Me: "Mi16"
Mrs: "&^#*(&)@&(#&&@^%*&#(^&&%#^@&$(*@&^%$&^"

Kenny, you will have to learn to conceal your spending on anything automotive.

Mrs Kenny (if she's like the rest of the female population) will not spend a single penny on any car unless it breaks and has to be fixed. It's as simple as that :|

What you must do is get the engine shipped over and then tell her your friend found it whilst clearing out his garage and gave it to you :cheesy:

k3nny if your after a better engine i wouldnt bother with the Mi16 in yours
as for one getting parts for it would be a mission! as most tend to need a rebuild by now

i would go for the turbo lump :D as most parts on that engine cross over to so many other french models so parts would be easyer to get hold of
plus its a lot better engine in my book more power when you need it i.e low down not over 4k like the Mi
dont get me wrong the Mi16 is a fan bloody tastic engine as long as you keep the revs up but then your drinking fuel lol

but if it is a Mi16 engine you want buy it with the car around it 8) can not beat a good blast down the country lanes in a 405 Mi16
i miss mine :cry:

My biggest concern (which i have think it over and over) .... are;

- will it sit / fit perfectly with my engine mounting (2.0 16v XU10J4R)
- the common spare parts for it, like fan belt, electrical bits, oil filter etc. are they the same ones like the 10J4R

once i got all the information covered, .... i'm gonna start babbling out to Niz with lotsa questions !! :cheesy:

.... that if i've mastered the skills from welton though. :D

The guys who are selling it will give you the engine mounts with it if you ask them, they will give you everything you need for a little extra I've had a few bits off them, they are good guys !
