k managed to buy the seals for the injector, 94p inc VAT for both :)
HOPEFULLY it will work,
did take the manifold off today and cleaned it all up, and tightened the union, did get a twist in it, but not in the injector. its, calmed down a bit i think.

found that halfords have the diesel injector socket for £9, so guess ill be buying that. do i really need this? or can i just use a spanner??

WTF is a crow foot?? and whats it for??

oh and looking on ebay at these special sockets, whats the difference with these ones with "windows" cut into them??

many thanks everyone :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

See how it goes before you splash out any more cash!

Make sure the socket says Pug 2,1 on the box!

A crow's foot is something like this. It's for getting to stuff in awkward places.

The window in the sockets is for clearing wiring - the injector in your pic has the needle lift sensor on it too.

nup, all the socket says is Diesel Injector socket, 4got to catch the size, but i take it by saying "See how it goes before you splash out any more cash!" i could proberly get away with a spanner ??

Needle lift sensor?? is this something i should be worried about?? and what they look like??
god and im trying to be a mechanic lol i dont even know my way round the car lol

should i exercise any cautions when taking out the injector to put on the new seals??

is it just straight take off fuel pipe nut, then undo injector??

many thanks all :cheesy:

When I read your post above I thought you managed to nip the union up a little (?) so I was suggesting to see if it did the trick before you go a-messin' with the injector itself. I'm pretty sure you won't get a spanner to it, I didn't have one big enough myself but it looked to me like I'd have to grind half of it away to get it in there!

yeah i had the inlet manifold off to do up the union, but i got my mate down ats to ave a look first, and he got a spanner on the injector, as he tryed to do it up a bit, but it wouldnt,
so i had to take off the inlet manifold to get to the union.

guess i should get the fingy from halfordz then. just read the bit on the tourqe. n dont wanna ruin it.

cheerz

just to update,
i found the prob,
it wasnt the injector, maby had a bit to do with the union, but it was mainly a split spill pipe:)

eventually got the gut to dare and take out the injector, and got stumped by the electric/sensor thingy attached to injector 1, the poblem one lol, so anyhow, while i was thiking about removing the sensor thing, i just randomly popped of the spill pipes, and as i bent it, i discoverd a split. :cheesy:

anyhow, replaced it and its now all nice n dry :cheesy:

many thanks for all of ya help :cheesy:
