o i guess my oil only t3/t4 roller bearing turbonetics turbo is no good then, or all the t3's that come on rs fords.

rubbish most big power cars dont use water cooling on the turbo as it over works the cooling system, just run an oil cooler and decent synthetic oil (good quality synth such as mobil 1 will not coke anyway).

the only benefit you get from running a water cooled turbo really is the fact you dont need a turbo timer since the water cooling prevents the need for one. and er thats about it.

Rather than cooling the Turbo to any degree the water connections also work as a nice winter coolant pre-heater.

My collegue removed the water conns on his twin TD04's and put them through their own water coller/fan and electric pump. The very most he's had on that system is 60 deg C. On the motorway at cruising speeds the water normally runs at 35 deg C. So the turbo water conns don't really do much - which had us surprised a bit.

In that case, you do not want to do the whole bigger compressor wheel etc... just a dynamic oil seal kit or carbon seal kit with a 360 degree thrust bearing set up... this will allow you to run the extra psi and keep it alive!

Due to the size of yours dude, heat isn't really that much of a problem and you have to take into account where yours is mounted.... as for escorts and sierra's its the same story there..... they are typically mounted at the front.... or the side of the engine.... not behind the block with no real cooling effect from the outside world.

So yes, the coolant feed is needed on the pug's..... a turbo timer, allows cool oil to circulate the blower at idle before switching off..... watercooling of the turbo.... which is a function to keep the oil cooler at the optimal viscosity.... does it work..... not when the turbo is used beyond it's specification.

there will be so much lag on the 306 you wont feel any torque, no point in a hybrid, just do as i said and go for a gt15 or kkk ko3, as lag is the killer on the 306, as you know after 3k revs the torque drops off like hitting a brick wall

Water to air is a charge cooler... charge coolers have a motor which pumps the water/antifreeze mix around a circuit and through a pre-rad. Its gos through a charge pot which is where the charge air goes through.

what?????

i used to have a 306 tdi and there is no way it would rev anywhere near 5k rpm, after 3k rpm the torque stopped and then after 4k rpm there is absolutley no power at all
your pump must be proper fooked
