406 estate petrol flap replacement

Post by dado »

Hi the one of the plastic lugs on the hinge on my petrol filler flap has broken and will not open remotely has anyone replaced this item before? it appears to have a long steel type pin running thru the lugs doesnt appear to have a lot of clearance top and bottom to remove it ? any ideas please.

 I have exactly the same problem - have to jam my keys under the lever that opens the flap and then open the cover by hand or else no fuel!
Looking forward to a solution as its just a niggling thing but I am a GRUMPY OLD MAN and need to get it sorted - looks like a very fiddly job????

One of mine broke off as well. I do have a replacement unit from scrappy's but haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.

What I do though, is first push hard on the right side of the flap and then pull the flap release... Hasn't failed to open (yet!)
