Hi guys,
Haven't been on here for a bit but the 406 is still driving along, as reliable as ever! I have in fact come to a point where I'm ready to sell it. Living in crowded streets at uni now so need something smaller and easier to park! Will miss the 50MPG though!
Nasically in good condition. Not the most tidyest of cars but looks presentable and is incredibly reliable. It's an executive model so therefore has electric everything! Lovely cream electric leather seats and a 6 cd changer (not original - a sony one but is connected to the original headunit so the interior looks aren't spoilt) Stalk stereo controls. Digital climate control with air con which is ice cold. Alloys in reasonable condition plus alloy spare. All tyres are well within legal limits. Everything works! RCL which works perfect.
Car has done 112K and has full history up until about 100K I think (haven't got the service book with me). I have done the last 7k in this car. In that time I have serviced it twice, fitted new radiator, new clutch, new waterpump, new glowplugs, 2 new ball joints, changed the timing belt and tensioners, and fitted a few other bits which I can't remember off the top of my head.
The car is super reliable and always starts whatever the weather! The car is currently achieving between 45-50mpg on my 20 mile a day trip to uni and runs and drives very well with the turbo pulling as it should. The car is also pretty refined for a diesel! It does the usual diesel thing of sounding a bit clattery on startup if it's cold but this is probably just the tappets needing adjusting but never bothered me. It starts and drives, fuel economy is great and the clattery noise go's after the first minute or so (and then it just has the usual diesel clatter lol!) so I never looked into it. The car is incredibly reliable and never fails to start and get me from A to B.
The brakes work very well and I have recently fitted new rear brake shoes and adjusted the rear brakes which has made the brake pedal feel normal again (anyone who reads my old posts will know I had brake pedal travel issues!). Like I mentioned earlier the car has been regularly serviced (the last being 3 weeks ago) and the car uses absolutely no oil or water! The water temperature rarely rises above 90C and if air con is on never does! The cooling system works 100 percent! Fans work and everything!
Now the car has MOT till March 08 and I have just put 6 months tax on it so that lasts till March too. In terms of the price I'm looking for £1050 ONO as this car is a fantastic runner and all the new parts I have fitted should ensure it will carry on running for many more miles yet trouble free.
Any questions, Don't hesitate to ask and if anyone wants some pictures I will try and sort some out. The car is located In Cardiff if anyone wants to come have a look and take her out for a test drive.
Cheers!
Rob

Also car doesn't smoke at all (unless your dopy like me and try to start it without deactivating the immobiliser! In which case when you realise your mistake and try to start it the second time, you get a bit of white smoke from the extra fuel pumped in!)
The car also has a towbay with a single electric hookup (original peugeot too) but I couldn't tell you if it works or not!

Hi guys,
This is the user formerly known as robbie123
It wouldn't let me update my old account so had to open a new one! The 406 is still availiable. Haven't really been trying to sell the car as I have been using it so much but have decided I no longer need a car! I advertised it on autotrader this morning http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... x_mileage=
so if any one is interested and wants to come and take a look, give me a shout!
