Or rather Leather Interior... 1998 406 LX Saloon, how much should I be looking to pay and from which models should I be looking to take the interior from? Would it fit straight in or is there alot of faffing about? I'm also abit scared of these electric seats and wiring them because Im one of these people who could blow up a potatoe using a piece of tin foil and paracetamol...
Re: Bondage
Ill give this one ago,
To start with, Look around your local scrap yards, but be careful some over charge for what is essentially, scrap (though one near me has a 406 with cream leather interior and they sell them for £80 for the lot)
Also, check out Fleabay, prices range from between £150 to £500 (going on buy it now prices) then you have to factor in delivery charge. (can get expensive due to size of rear seats)
Undoing the Torx screws on the drivers and passenger seats isn't to much of a problem till you come to the one on the front closest to the center console, as this one is at an angle.
Also to remove the cover that is down the side of the seat (plastic shroud near the memory settings) there is a smaller Torx screw at the end accessible from the back seat area, just so you don't try and brake it off thinking its a clip.
I'm pritty sure all model of saloons will fit the interior, as it was just the front end they really changed during the face lift.
But best to make sure and go for one before 1999.
Also, as i found out the other day, underneath the drivers seat is a box, with a ECU connector on it, you might want to grab that too, if your getting the leathers, as this controls the seats movement input. if yours doesn't already have it. cant miss it, its blooming huge with a big thick black wire going into it.
Also all the connectors under the seat, are color coded IIRC so you really cant go wrong.

Wrong, they changed a *LOT* on the D9. Including the seats. Hence why the first post to anyones problems is usually "is it a D8 or D9?".TehAgent wrote:I'm pritty sure all model of saloons will fit the interior, as it was just the front end they really changed during the face lift.
IIRC the front seats can be swapped about with no problems, but the D9 rear seat will need a fair bit of work and persuasion to go in a D8 and vice-versa.

Re: Bondage

20 minutes with a tape measure this morning and it looks to me like the rear seats on the estates are the same. The rails on the fronts are the same length and the same distance apart too, but you knew that already. Just why Pug changed the back seats on the saloon is anybody's guess.
