Most Scoobies are not that quick really. Once the power has gone through that 4WD system the the wheel horse power is comparable to other 200 BHP FWD cars.
My light weight Honda with 160BHP and LSD used to give the old 240BHP UK spec Scoobies a good run
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
Ah but the difference is the scooby driver thinks he has something special.
Round here there are a number of D8 & D9 estates giving sterling service as taxis. It makes a stock V6 a pretty good street sleeper as they expect taxiesque performance. Makes for fun driving as there are a bunch of Barrys and Chavs driving round in their hot hatches with baked bean tin exhausts.
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.
I had a failed clamp on my rear box, took it to the nearest exhaust place (the red one), guy gets it on the ramp and declares he had paid a lot of money to make his car sound like that.
A friend of mine sold their stock 1.2 Corsa, saw it a week later with an exhaust so big it was almost dragging

I would of mentioned it before but i didnt want to start a 'willy waving my 406 is faster than a impreza' thread with a mass argument going on for page after page (ive seen them on other forums) because its not faster but yeah ive tailgated some scoobies up to some seriously silly speeds a few times, quite easily
Yes I owned a twin turbo scoob (legacy gt)- before my D9 - it suffered whats called 'valley of death'; meaning a 1.1 fiesta could beat it off the lights (and cut me up!).
But I really missed that phat exhaust, so when the old one had rusted off (before I bought it) I realised it don't actually matter what size I put back on, cause the HDI isn't that loud, so I powerflowed it !!!
Well actually it was a powerflow throwback, as the gentleman before me had it removed (too loud on a non-turbo), so I had it for a bargain (£50 fitted).
... coz "when the old one had rusted off (before I bought it) I realised it don't actually matter what size I put back on, cause the HDI isn't that loud, so I powerflowed it !!! "
Personally I hate pencil thin pipes, thats all !
