wiper blades

Post by andrew1608 »

Does anyone know of a simple way of replacing the wiper blades on a rapier, i need to replace the blades. I have set the wipers so they sitting up on the windscreen but cannot get the arms to come backwards to remove the blades and it's not very easy to remove the arm, i removed the 16mm bolt but the arm would not come off the bolt.

turn the wipers on and when they get to the highest point on the windscreen, switch the ingnition off, this will give you maximum leverage which still aint much unfortunatley, but its the only way to do it

You shouldn't need to take the arms off anyways, there should be a part you can move round on the clips. Always a bit fiddly...

you normally need to pull the blade slightly away from window then hold the arm and push the metal bit on the blade down back towards the screen. it should "pop" then you slide the clip and the blade out from the arm.

last time i tried i spent 20 mins and broke one clip (and a knuckle or two) before i remembered how they fitted

Naaahhh, they're not that bad to do. There are a few different types, once you understand the way your ones work they're pretty straightforward really.
