I'm new here & I must be doing something wrong, I've been trying to use Service Box - got the password etc. sorted but every time I try to use it it asks me for money? It says the bits I want to look at are free, but won't let me look at it unless I "subscribe".

Enable pop-ups for the site in your web browser - I had the same head-scratching when I first tried to use it until I spotted the little 'popup blocked' icon in the corner of my browser...

You'd get that off the steering wheel if you head butted it!

Ok ladies and gents. I did a good turn the other month for a mate and he did a good one in return and bought me an airbag plus a cover from Ebay. Should you ever be landed with these this is what I had to do to install it.

1: Disconnect battery and wait 40 minutes. (else ye be munted in the face)

2: Remove your gloves from your glove box. :cheesy:

3: Using a 1/4 drive wrench with the req'd torx driver undo the plastic retainer flap that holds the glovebox from falling down completely.

4: Undo the hinge assembly and put the glove 'tray' somewhere else.

5: Open/pop the roundel in the passenger side of the dash and undo 3-4 torx screws that hold on the upper glove box pannel.

6: Whilst performing the yoga possition the inverted crab/wave your privvy parts to the sky get under the dash board and unsecure the relevent torks screws responsible for holding the upper glove box pannel.

7: At this point it's good idea to disconnect the courtesy light for the glove box and relevent switch before pulling the cover panel away.

8: Using a 1/4 drive wrench with extension and 10mm socket undo 2 M6 retaining nuts that secure the airbag in place.

9: Tilt the air bag unit up and slide it towards the back of the car using the side fins of the unit to go through the slits in the dash.

10: Undo 4 equi spaced M6 nuts that hold on the old air bag cover plate using the 1/4 drive wrench with extension and 10mm socket.

11: Get the other half to put the kettle on your nearly done.

12: Push from below in an upward direction and the bottom part of the plate with unclip and the 4 studs at the top will come with it in one peice.

13: Refit is the oposite of dismantling.

Estimated time taken 40-50 minutes.

14: Drink cuppa before it goes cold.

15: Treat dash to dusting and polish.

Hope this helps.

Can you be a bit more specific about these bits? I tried not too long ago but just couldn't see how to take anything more than the glovebox out

Ok there are two torx on the upper panel towards the wooden trim. then theres one or two under the cloth flap on the bottom I then had to reach behind the upper panel and undo one more that was an awkward one as you had to undo it towards the front of the car.

Where you based mjb?

I suggest 2nd hand module from peugeot breakers @ Ilkeston there about 40 quid not worth messing about glueing it cos they shrink with the sun and never go back right anyway.

The breakers yard at ilkeston is really good they got every model of peugeot you can think of there really clued up and they will take the parts you need off for you so non of that rumaging around in puddles of oil for hours.

Solution to peeling airbag cover issue: No More Nails + Brick.

Worked a treat :) (just remember to chuck the brick out once it's set...)
