In the absense of someone with any actual knowledge answering as yet, I'm not sure what's actually sucking fuel out of your tank but did anyone look at this yet? Maybe the pipe or strainer fell of and it's just not deep in the fuel enough now.

What else has been looked at? How useless are Peugeot?

I'd check the fuel pick up. Mates dad had a truck that wouldn't go up hill when the fuel level was low, this was caused by blocked fuel pickup
