1998 1.9TD

Post by devonian »

Hi people,

quick question or two, have been offered a 406 1.9TD 1998 vintage. Asked owner when cambelt was last done, but he said he had been told it was chain driven??

Is this correct? If not how much would it be roughly to have the cam belt changed??

Thanks in advance

There's no chain, it's a belt!

The HDi is every 96000 or 6 years so I think the XUD engine would be the same.

A garage will charge about £250.00 get a water pump fitted at same time (for what they cost) and make sure it's a cambelt 'kit' with all the idlers and tensioner included and have the auxilary belt changed at same time.
