My D8 V6 Exec on eBay

Post by AndyV6 »

Well, she's been great since ownership, and done me and the Mrs proud. Mrs. has a longer drive into work now, so unfortunately she's gotta go (the car, not the Mrs I'm afraid :( ).

Here's a linky :

So incredibly tempted.... only issue is it's got a tiny boot and poor rear visibility compared to my estate.

If I bid (and win), would you mind waiting until next friday (payday) to complete the transaction?

Sometimes m you just have to make a choice and go with it. You could easily throw £400.00 at your estate whereas you could equally invest in something else which you may enjoy further and for longer.

Do you really need the boot space? if 99% of your driving is by yourself and then once a year you load up for a holiday trip then sometimes you can consider all chipping in towards a hired vehicle for such use.

I must admit it seems a good motor this one :|

*justs wants m to buy a V6 and then report to us what it's like*

Visibility on the saloons is fine. It's a shame D8 execs never came with leather door cards - they transform the vehicle.

But this one does look like a very tidy motor.

I'd be tempted too, but it's bad enough running the tubby; let alone a 3 litre!
God knows what the economy is like, I'm not sure I believe £60 to fill it up for 420 miles :frown:

I can honestly say that the fill-up and mileage bit is true! The mrs. doesn't have a heavy right foot, so...YMMV as they say!

Ah the bit about the coupé seats :) Have you seen those orrible sofas they put in the 2 doors? Looks like a 70's fest. I find the saloon seats better styled and better fitting.

She is very straight, and payment a bit later isn't a huge worry as long as I get it in the end! You can come and have a viewing whenever - needs to be seen to be appreciated.

Cheers.

That there economy is about 35MPG which is achievable with the V6 with care.

I ran a V6 Mazda and you could get reasonable figures on a run but round town expect low 20's.

In fact the 2.0 tubby is a thirsty old brute an I wouldn't expect much difference with the V6 or even a bit better sometimes.

Most Exec's seem to be diesel or 2.0 turbo engines, not nice, smooth powerful beasts like this one
JOG ON ! ! ! The Turbo's power delivery is far superior to the breathless V6, even in standard form.... it's just a shame it has a 46hp shortfall over the V6, but that is easily fixed :D

5.... but ask yourself...... why?

Beacuse I like to see how far I can push the stock turbo's... 28 p.s.i from one, is pretty good going :)

In stock form the Turbo has super smooth power delivery.... almost Porsche like ! 8) Super smooth Spool up!
