Carry on the bidding... :D

I am taking these offers seriously btw ;) To be collected (legally needs to be towed, but I don't care once the V5 is signed over 8) ) from Keele - ST5 5NH

I can take a couple of pics tomorrow, but this ain't the sort of car you buy for its looks. ;)

See what I can get for a couple hundred quid. Definitely going to be a 406 though.

See the counter underneath the pictures? Well I think all but 5 of those hits is me... But £400 will get my tubby rolling again. Although that cambelt... and the sound of the V6... I'm conflicted.

I wish my missus would nag me into spending on a car. I once mentioned "eight thousand pounds" to her and she was nearly physically sick! you see to her that would equate to 4 holidays (which last 2 weeks and then promptly forgotton about)

She sees cars as a total 'waste' of money :(

carry on..........

I don't know what to do :( Here's my options as I see them.

1) Wait until payday, pay a garage to source and fit the bonnet+track rod end+cv boot - £3-400 + MOT
AND pay a garage to fit a cambelt+pump at a later date £350
Live without a 5th seat and an engine that's knocking 180k and isn't as lively as it once was

2) Scrap the tubby, buy a £100 fiesta/etc saturday and live in pain for a couple of months until I can afford a decent D8 V6 estate (£1000)

3) Scrap the tubby, be without a car until a cheap £2-600 V6/tubby comes on ebay (I doubt AndyV6's £400 one will finish under 4 figures :( )

Number 2's sounding good right now. The tubby's too good to scrap, but money is an issue and at the moment it's taking up valuable shared car park space. I literally can't keep it for much longer in this condition without it being towed :(

Does the bonnet close though?
I don't know how far away your local scrappy is but you could drive it there and fit the bonnet yourself; take it home and get it booked for the mot work :?:
