How d'you get silicon sealant off tiles?
As per the title really. The blokes who fitted our bathroom did a cracking job but why oh why did they feel the need to use white silicon sealant to glue the bath side panel to the expensive black tiles
. How can I get the sealant off the tiles?

Eek! I'm not sure if it would be wise to try any sort of solvent on it, you could make it 100x worse. I dunno, once it's dry (cured? Set??) you should be able to peel it off again, maybe with the aid of some of that green scratchy stuff your mrs. uses for the washing up. I think it'll have to be a case of trying a little at a time and see what does the least damage.

The easiest way is to use a stanley knife blade, you won't scratch the tiles as long as you don't twist the blade!
Hold the notched edge (!) and push the whole sharp edge across the tile, works a treat. Use a new blade though!

The texture is too coarse for a blade, it's like rough slate effect. I think I'll give a scotch pad a go with some soapy water.

HG seal and walrus remover has been specially developed for the easy and simple removal of all marine mammals from various surfaces, such as stainless steel, enamel, glass, plastic, ceramic tiles, glazed tiles, natural stonework and similar base materials.
Sounds ideal!
