I know that this might seem a stupid question and could equally have been put in mechanical queries but run with me as I am only as bright as a 3w bulb! I tried to fit my TDi Tuning chip at the week-end, which is a simple ( ) plug in.
Having located the connecter at the base of the Bosch rail it was buried deep behind pipes and canisters. With the canister slid out I could just about see it. But, of course, the push release to withdraw the connector was on the engine side against the block making it impossible to press and release. Has anyone managed to release this connector or got any tips how to do it without dismantling half the pipework?

Unfortunately, all they do is "trick" the ECU into overfuelling/overboosting etc... You really want the map on the ECU itself changed, it will give you a lot more for you money and piece of mind that reliability won't suffer. Had my 2.1TD remapped 3 years ago and have had no problems with anything in the engine at all (things outside it are another matter )

What was it like after the re-map?
The acceleration on mine is phenomenal, I couldn't imagine it after a re-map?!

Well, it was almost like someone has put a new engine in. Mind you, I also had a problem with a needle lift sensor on injector 1 which I replaced... so it was like it was remapped twice
I had a remap on my 90HDi, drove like a dream afterward, so much more poke, so much smoother, much better on fuel; you MUST have this done, you will never regret it. Oh, don't worry about insurance - it's purely a software upgrade, just like Peugeot do when it goes in for a service
