Condensation in headlight

Hi Puglovers
How do I get the condensation out of my headlight , and what would be causing it, changed the H7 bulb six weeks back , and noticed in the garage that the drivers side was well steamed up. Is it a case of getting the Missus hairdryer out and making sure the rubber caps are sealed correctly ? all the best Sollyboy

That sounds like a plan, I don't think you'll get in there any other way to dry it, take the bulbs out and shine it in one hole for a couple of hours, then t'other, it's got to be easier than taking it out and sticking it in the oven. Maybe you'll figure out why it happened when you look at the rubbers.

They don't normally do this but I would try to dry it out on a fair day with the hair drier then make sure the rubber seal on the dipped beam access cover is spotless and apply a smear of Vaselene on the seal. Also check the other 'openings' in the back of the lens like the side light bulb holder (has an 'O' ring seal) and the main beam access cover too.

If the seal on the headlight 'glass' has gone then it's difficult to sort without replacing the headlights for new ones. Some people with other makes of car strip off the 'glass' from the headlight casing and re-seal with automotive silicone etc.

I find it occasionally when the car has had a bloody good clean with the jet wash. Just steams up on the drivers side. The way i got rid of it was to put the lights on as the heat off the bulb dries it
out very quickly
