ignition switch info ..

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

sometime ago had a prob with ignition switch it was loose and causing
a break in current to blower motor , tightened it up and tie wrapped cables
and has been fine till now. Getting intermittant blower again.
Priced new switch at local stealers £130 :cry: after being told get up
off the floor and stop screaming like a child :oops: i was then told
if i didnt have the key number, its on the little plastic tag atatched to
the keys when you first get them, it will be another £20 :shock: anyone know if
i can get the number from a subscribed section of service box ?? :frown:

nope. the only info specific to your car you can get from servicebox is in the 'characteristics' section sorry

cheers mj more or less what i thought , fooking robbing bastards they
get £130 worth of business if i buy one but still want £20 to bring the number
up on a comp so they can order it what a bloody joke :evil:

cars should have been unaffordable for us mere mortals :shock:

its so expensive as it comes complete with the ingition lock, if you dont have the key number, you will end up with a randomn key which will only fit the igntion, do you not have the little blue credit card that has the key number?

right just bought this of fleabay Peugot 406 Lock Set

am i right in thinking if i fit one of those key blades into my
flip it will work as the thing that reads it is the plastic transponder
or whatever its called around the ignition switch :|
