Been Rear Ended

Post by pugsport »

I was negotiating a speed hump at a slow pace, the moron behind was going a tad too fast, after performing an emergency stop the the little sh*t drove off!! I got his number and reported to the police, In one way I'm fortunate it was only minor contact, and it could have been worse. Apart from the bumper being damaged it looks like the mounting brackets are bent.

The police are sending him a notification with intent to prosecute, my insurers are also on the case. I don't understand why he drove off he is insured and the police says the car checks out ok.
I'm not having much luck lately, some little toe-rag snapped my ariel off a while back, and since then someone has scraped the rear nr side about 2ft in length down to the primer, a neighbour said a van pulled up onto the kerb next to my car so I guess that was done then, got no details on that one. Oh and my wife smacked the front bumber on a high kerb again!

I thought it strange until drunk driving was mentioned.

The other thing it could be is allthough the car is insured by "someone", the driver at the time may have not been insured.

Bad luck anyway, lets hope this is the last for you.

As a consolation and some hope, 11 years someone drove into my car while it was parked in a car park and wrote it off. The driver wasn't insured, but the passenger was the owner and was insured. It took 6 months, but my insurance company reclaimed the cost of my car from the car's owner's insurance, so I got my no claims bonus and excess back.

To this day, I still think it may have been the owner was driving but had been drinking and said to his mate "say you were driving".

Each to his own eoin, remember you'll be 44 one day; would you rather have a zafira or a sporty 406 when you're that age?

Actually don't they do a sporty Zafira (vxr or something like that?) with a decent engine, big alloys and subtle bodykit?
