Rover 75s are fairly comfy too, but I they're just terrible to drive - you're so detached from the road you just don't feel involved with the driving process

Ive got that engine in my MeganeGallen wrote:What ever you do, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go for a Laguna-2 120 DCi.
I can piss 46 - 47 mpgGallen wrote:measly 33 - 35 average mpg
Mines quite slick unlike my old 406Gallen wrote:The Renault 6-speed box was horrible and notchy.
Yep, they do go out in style the dci engines. The oil seals wear in the turbo then the engine starts burning its sump oil and the engine will not turn off till all the oil has been used, the engine revs off the clock with black smoke pouring everywhereGallen wrote:The Renault's mileage was circa 90k (needed turbo replaced at 90k to - major problem with all DCi Renaults). It's a matter of "when the turbo goes", and not if it will go. It is guaranteed,
I think Gallen you had a heap of shite. I feel as tho mines really quick, no need to go above 3000rpm and 100mph plus is easily achievedGallen wrote:The renault was very labourious and slow - very frustrating to drive, and to be honest, required thrashing to get anywhere whilst in traffic. It struggled to hit 100 in any time fast where
On 1.9DCIs EGR valve should open to allow carbon dioxide, which acts as a cooling gas) into the combustion chambers when the engine is under load (>30% boost). This allows the combustion chamber temperature to drop and thus the temperature of the exhaust gases. If it sticks in the closed position the exhaust gas temperature will rise causing a) the turbo bearings to fail and b) engine oil into the induction system. This will cause the engine to go on running until it has consumed all its oil and then it will go bang.

Love itWater has been known to get into the ECU creating short circuits and causing things like the car to attempt to self-start while the alarm goes off, the wipers wipe and the screenwashers spray screenwash fluid. This seems to be increasingly common.
what were you disappointed with on the 407 thenrapport25 wrote:Vel Satis oh yes welly now you are talking i like them to. I think i need to test drive one and the new laguna. If you drive a 405 a great car in everyway. Then get into a 406 it does all what the 405 does but better. A 407 a big dissapointment
.
Well it is French and it has electrics, so its to be expectedsteve_earwig wrote: My personal favourite:Love itWater has been known to get into the ECU creating short circuits and causing things like the car to attempt to self-start while the alarm goes off, the wipers wipe and the screenwashers spray screenwash fluid. i have to agree about the glovebox its only use is cd'srapport25 wrote:With ref to the 407 did not like the drive also very hard ridding compared to the 406. A useless glovebox unlike the 406. More storage space inside a 406. Not a fan of thr dash layout to many buttons which really is not needed. Dont get me wrong i like the outside but not a fan of the inside one bit. Drove a 136 hdi se saloon in iron grey. Really want to like this car but i dont. My friend has one the same as what i drove. To me its not an improvement on a 406 its just a different peugeot. And would not buy one. How do you rate it as you have had a 406 before?
