Blimey!

You know, I paid £3,300.00 for my T plate exec 2 years ago, and I was happy to pay that, but now even though it still looks and feels the same I am driving a £1,000.00 bargain :(

The 406 really has taken a big hit especially with the price of 407's dropping fast :|

That's good for me though, I would never have been able to afford one a couple of years ago. Sod HP, I've got other debts to get shot of!

Yeah but maintenance / repair costs aren't dropping are they? At this rate it won't be long before the smallest fault on a 406 will render it beyond economical repair (In fact in my head that's happened already!).

Thank God for ebay and the local breakers Dai! I think the only original part I've bought is the timing belt (touch wood!)

£150?! Left or right, Com2000 or pre?
Edit: Forget the left or right, I just re-read your post

I got all the suspension gear off ebay and the rear disks/pads/shoes. My first couple of weeks of ownership were spent under the car! Oh, not forgetting Eurocarparts too :cheesy:

Yeah Com2000 mate. When you look at them you can almost understand why they've so expensive, extremely complex bit of kit it is. However why the stupid french tw@s had to make them so fekking complex is beyond me!!! The other thing is that there are loads of different variants, so ebay's a bit of a lottery, and there is a superseding part listed on servicebox, ergo they've admitted that the original part is shyte. Now IMO when manufacturers do this they should be obliged to replace the part at a massively discounted rate.

I've never really took any notice about these Com2000's of which you speak- but today I shall ask what it does? is it to do with the shat-nav?

What a bastard :( I'll keep an eye on my local breakers, they've always got loads of 406's coming in with broken cambelts
What's actually wrong with the stalk?
