The COM2000 is an integrated communications hub which lives inside the steering column. A lot of people think it is just the indicator stalk, but it comprises of more things than that. It comprises of:
Indicator & wiper stalks
Sockets for cruise control & audio controls
Receiver for the remote control
Speaker for warning chimes & indicator 'tick tock'
1996 406 1.8LX Got a bad case of hydro lock!
1996 406 Executive 2.0 Turbo XU10J2TE No longer hangin' on in there
1997 Honda CB500V
2003 Volvo V40 1.8 GDi SE killed by a nutter in a beemer 5 series
2008 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Titanium X
"Always look on the bright side of life, dedo, dedo dedodedo"
Indicator & wiper stalks
Sockets for cruise control & audio controls
Receiver for the remote control
Speaker for warning chimes & indicator 'tick tock'
What's the point of that?
Notice that guy on there fom Croatia

It's been mechanically less than perfect for ages, over-cancelling to the left (i.e. turn right, and when you straighten up the stalk cancels but bounces straight past the centre position and stops on the left, hence left indicator comes on. But just last weekend it's started intermittantly not working at all, either left or right it's kind of hit & miss whether you get your flashies. So now the procedure is indicate, swear, cancel, indicate again, swear some more, jiggle stalk, turn anyway, return w**ker sign at the bloke you just cut up, touch the stalk to cancel it and laugh demonically as the indicators begin to work, then cancel indicators......

I shouldn't laugh but I can picture that!

That guy's in Čakovec, which is as far north as Croatia goes. I don't meet many English people here but I saw a guy last week who's building a house not far from here, he drives a D8 too.
lol I looked at the complexity of my indicator stalk and said f*ck it. My Windscreen Washer problem is either a wire cut or faulty indicator stalk switch.
I'm just gonna re-wire a new switch to washer bottle pump and battery. Might even make it remote control.
These cars are still £2.5k in dealers, I thought I was asking way too low at £1,200 for mine. But looking at the value you's have got mine is poss worth £800 or less. At that price I'd rather just keep it or brake it for spares. Easily get £1k if I brake it.

If you can tell me what the part number for yours is, I can work out if mine would be any good?
Cheers Supa, job for the weekend that
