My indicator stalk just suddenly decided to jam. It doesn't go down to indicate left at all, so I kind of have to keep it pressed to keep the indicator on. It goes up but only after some force and fiddle - but goes back automatically just fine. All the other "switches" on it are unaffected. It's very strange as it's went from working to not working... I'll see if I can take it apart and see if something just came apart or actually broke. I still have my original stalk without the fog light switch on, so I guess I'll be putting that back in. But no front fogs then...
Anyone had this problem before? Any special remedies for it?
I had exactly the same thing happen.
If you strip the stalk apart you'll see a metal pin on the end of the stalk that sits in a groove with a gap in the centre (it's part of the cancelling mechanism). In this centre area the groove wears away and the pin gets stuck in the gap.
I basically filled the gap with a piece of an araldite spatula and heated it with a mini hot air gun to form it into shape. Worked a treat and no more jamming indicator stalk!
It's a fiddly job but worth it!

It's an integral part of the body; you'd have to swap all the guts over and the weird gear setup for the front fog switch. Do-able though, Pity it didn't happen while you were over here!
Careful when you separate the body; it likes to explode and throw bits everywhere, the air was rather blue when I did mine
How's the jetlag?

Damn... Hate fiddly things. It only went wrong this morning out of nowhere. Will have a look-see at the weekend. And wash the car while I am at it
Jet lag is getting better, although I was absolute f***ed on Monday and yesterday. In the future, will definitely have a day off before recommencing work!
That's what happened to mine, Emma was driving back and suddenly the stalk jammed.
Proposition for you, fit your other stalk in and post me the broken one, I'll fix it for you and take some piccies while I'm at it for the knowledgebase

Surrey's only 130-140 miles down the road
We do all the airports, we do parcelwork allover Britain and we drop train drivers to Crewe and Tilbury on a regular basis.
No, I mean big hole in pocket to pay for it!!

Now this thread has gone off topic - Supa, what will you do for your next Taxi? 406's will run out soon. Has black beauty regained the performance of your previous HDi? you always thought it was slower?

There's a few on here recently thinking of a change but really truggling to find anything equivalent or better than a 406. I was thinking the other day that my exec's got all the goodies I would want to retain in the next car but I know this will be difficult to achieve and I will have to sacrifice some things (not the heated seats though )
