Take a look at http://www.pepipoo.com/ which should give you a lot of information regarding your rights etc.
I spoke to the guy at the ticket office, and they originally sent the NIP the day after I got snapped, which means there's no get-out clause for me there since it was lost by the post office
If you go past a fixed or mobile camera which was obscured by something, i.e. hidden, I would turn around and take a picture of it in the direction you were original travelling. They are not allowed to hide in bushes etc.
It wasn't obscured from the direction I was traveling, just about 100 yards from the northbound carriageway, and about half mile away from where they snapped me (they were actually aiming at the southbound carriageway (through a gap in the bushes) at the brow of the hill to catch people completely unaware)

Were there camera signs? There have to be signs! 2 miles max for a fixed camera and half a mile max for a mobile one IIRC.

I really have to stop quoting "facts" from my deepest darkest memory without checking them first. I could be talking utter bollocks for all I know, some days I can't even remember my own name!

I'm not going grey yet (considerably less densely pupulated on top though  ) but last week I didn't shave for a few days 'cos I was ill. Far too many greys on the face! :frown:

From what I understand NIP's are sent recorded delivery, so they should have the recorded delivery number that you can use to see who signed for the NIP originally. I would then ask for a copy of the original NIP.

Got my re-printed NIP yesterday via normal post.

I've just had a thought. I've been presuming it was me driving it on the way to the petrol station from kwik-sh*t, but I left it there for about 30 mins for them to do the work while i walked into town to get cash (bastards don't take visa electron cards). What if they decided to take it for a spin and got caught? If the camera snapped the rear of the car you wouldn't be able to see who the driver is...

Wonder what the legal position is on that...

You'd have to get a copy of the photo for starters; if you can't prove otherwise the registered keeper gets the points and the fine :(

The receipt from the ATM will show a time and may prove you couldn't have been in the car on that road?
