I altered my seat a couple of weeks ago as my back was hurting and also I have now started driving minus a coat/jacket/jumper and I'm having a right job finding a decent seat position
I'm on the lowest height setting (to the floor) it's a fair way back (as the clutch bite is high) I've got the steering wheel right out on it's extension because the seat is back - but I have changed my seat position morning and night every day for 2 weeks trying to get it right - and I'm only 5' 9"
I think the main culprits are the high clutch point and the rake? angle of the steering wheel - if you drop the wheel down towards your lap you can't see the clocks so it has to sit up in the 'bus drivers' angle making the reach awkward when parking etc.
How do you get on?

know what you mean welly!! am 5.10 and a fat bastard so thats first prob
second i got a gammy right leg (motorbike accident ) so took a long time to
get it right and i fooking hate it when it gets mooved
I've got the seat all the way up There seems to be more than enough adjustment on the Pugs, the Ni$$an was a different matter, for me the seat back needed to be right in the middle of two stops, I was always moving up or down a notch trying to get comfortable. I also have the seat tilted back as far as it goes.
A pdf on how to adjust your seat by Loughborough Uni.
As for my pushbike, I'm sure it's shrunk since I used to ride it...
Believe it or not the 406 Exec is the most comfortable car I've ever driven (I need that lumbar adjustment!). I'm 6'1" but I've got a longer upper body and shorter legs. I think my brother got my measure of legs, he's 6'8!
Thank god for memory seats, I've got it set up just right after much faffing around. I needn't get in the car after my wife has used it and have my chin squashed into the steering wheel and knees crushed; just press a button before I get in the car!

Indeed! I think I'm about there now, I needed the seat a bit further back and the steering wheel down a touch but it feels a lot better. The bad back didn't help as you can't feel comfortable in ANY sort of chair
My memory function has been hammered in the last few days - I'm surprised it hasn't thrown a French wobbly

carry on...

i'm about 6ft3-4, the 406 is a comfee car, i've got my seat pivot quite far back as i have long arms ( all the better for grabbing...i mean hugging you with my dear ) Seat is to the ground, I usualy rest my right arm on the window sil with my hand on the wheel just near the remote pressing " >> " ( is it me or are our waves full of crap these days? ) left hand on gear stick/wheel. in a jam it wonders round the car

I find Fords are the same.
Horrible seats IMHO.
Best seats I've had were the Nissan 300 (leather, heated, fully electric.) and the MR2 which hugged you just right.
