Interestingly, Radio 2, at the time of this post, are discussing the huge increase in fuel theft in this country

Home owners are having their heating oil (red diesel) stolen and in one part of Wales the police found a van with a 1000ltr tank in the back and a fast transfer pump

Lorry drivers are having their tanks emptied (at £800.00 a go).

Most are saying that any locking device you fit to a tank in a waste of time as they either just smash it off or drill a hole in the tank  so you lose the cost of the fuel AND the tank

What a mess!

I am just glad i now walk to work (10 mins). The 110 mile a day commute would be getting close to the cost of train and bus tickets at current prices (half the time thou) even in the HDi doing 50mpg!

The new motor did 35mpg (15p*/mile) (long distance motorway type driving) on the last tank which i can live with, especially as i don't use it much.

* Thats about the same cost a mile as your HDi Welly, although its on completely different driving where yours would probably do 50mpg and 12p a mile.

I can only see the prices going up long term and fuel theft increasing alot. Fuel is getting like liquid gold!

The scary thing is I remember watching a drama documentary last year on how things would unfold when the oil did eventually run out. It's unfolding exactly as they predicted :(

I was amazed to hear that the UK uses 1.8million barrels of oil per day

Where the hell do they get it all from? makes you think a bit.

A "barrel" is 35 gallons and apparently only about 17 gallons turns into petrol and 7 gallons Diesel :o

Maybe I'm being simplistic, but isn't it all a GREAT BIG CON.? Diesel dearer than petrol. Why? because the government taxes it more following a, since discredited, report on particulates. Oil prices rising daily. Why? Because the Saudis say so. If the world said they wont pay the price, sure, there would be a shortage for a while but someone would have to give in.
Then, Bottler Brown says he is listening to people and wants to help them through these hard times of increasing fuel costs whilst pocketing millions in fuel tax which he refuses to cut, whilst MP's claim millions in expenses.
LABOUR, that's the problem. There isn't enough of it. Too many people, from too many countries, pouring in with extended families, none of whom work, and claiming benefits and housing which is paid for by OUR fuel tax.
I'm not being racist, because there are also far too many British people draining the system and the NHS.
Brown, here's the simple solution and I'm not a politician.........

Reduce your outgoings and then you can cut your income.

Simple really! That's it, rant over, now sit back and wait for the complaints to flood in!
