Exceptional example, especially with the new cambelt. If I had that sort of money and could afford the upcoming tax hike I'd be extremely tempted which definitely says something given my usual attitude to D9s ;)

Take it you've tried advertising it over at the 406coupe club website?

Yeah, I just put it on there this morning. It's been on PH & AutoTrader for a week and a bit, but I've not had a single sniff... surprising given there's very few of them around.... but as you say tax & fuel prices, has probably had an effect.

'Tis a shame that it's only just falling into the new tax bandings. If it was an X reg it would have been OK! 238g/km is £210 tax this year, £300 next year and £430 the year after

Agree, the tax changes are REALLY annoying. The very slight silver lining is that it's a once per year payment.... plus, I've never let the government stop me from owning the car I really want! Also, there's talk that these changes may not come into force, so watch this space, as they say!

Oh I am watchig that space believe me, mine's gone from £160 to £270 which thoroughly pisses me off. I mean WTF do the bastards think they're playing at retrospectively taxing 7 year old cars, which are exactly those cars owned by people who can't afford to simply trade it in for a greener model. I'm not too bothered about the tax hikes and "showroom taxes" on higher polluting new cars, because you pays yer money and takes yer choice (although I still think they should do away with VED altogether and simply stick with fuel duties), but the retrospective increases on the post 2001 vehicles are simply wrong!

Y reg = 1st March '01 to 31st August '01. As I said earlier if it'd been an X reg it would be OK.
