Hi all, 1st Peugeot ths morning..
I was seduced at an auction by a V6 exec est W reg with practically unmarked bodywork and a smooth sounding engine, my winning bid of only £760 helped smooth the deal.
Known negatives are
- 141k mileage (although with FSH to mid 07),
- broken off glove comp handle / lock (one of those annoying things probably difficult / expensive to fix)
- and 'Green slip from log book missing' (not sure what this means..)
I have my fingers crossed there's nothing major wrong, will know in a few hours when I pick it up.
Who thinks the gamble will pay off ?
Will report in later.

The V6 engine never seems to give any trouble at all
Just have a check because I have a feeling it may be coming up for a cambelt (possibly why it was sold on if the owner was quoted £800.00 from the dealer).
Can any other V6'ers confirm the cambelt interval?
Other than confirming this fella you will be well pleased with it I know. A true executive express for peanuts

Re: Hi all, 1st Peugeot ths morning..
First check over, drives beautifully, slight rubbing sound from rear brakes and 'air bag' warning flashing on dash. On my way to get a Haynes manual now not that I'll understand much in it anyway. There's no Owners Guide or whatever it's called to tell me about all the knobs and switches eg. cruise control and ow to operate it, suppose I can get one from a dealer. Google hasn't helped so far.
Over the moon with it so far....

Nice one fella, don't forget it may have been stood a bit before the auction and the rear brakes might just need a good work out to loosen up.
Air bag light = cheap connector under front seat(s) it's the red one down at the bottom next to all the seat wiring stuff - just carefully bend the contact pins a bit to make them tighter when you plug the connector back together - don't use anything "metal" when pokng about with the connectors in case you short anything out.

I just thought, you can see the handbooks on Service Box
Don't try fixing the cruise 'til you know it's broke

Tom - Drives beautifully, great acceleration.

Tom - Cambelt changed at 78k and again at 116k (current 141k) says every 36k to 72k acc to usage![]()
Can any other V6'ers confirm the cambelt interval?

Re: Hi all, 1st Peugeot ths morning..
Tom you will be very happy for a long time to come.
I had a V6 Exec for 2.5 years and in that time all i put on it was a battery, an exhaust, and 4 tyres and thats it. Not one single problem. Mine had 139k when i sold it and was running like it had done 39k. Dare i say it, but the best car i have ever owned, i miss it like mad now its gone

Re: Hi all, 1st Peugeot ths morning..
Cruise control - very easy to use.
Master switch to the right of the steering wheel, next to the headlight leveller.
Control stalk on the left.. Get up to speed and press stalk down to set the speed. The car will now maintain that speed.
To accelerate, press the stalk up. Down has the opposite effect.
Pulling back disengages, as does using the brake or clutch.
Pressing the stalk up resumes the previously set speed.
Taking the car out of gear without using the clutch is NOT recommended.

Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

Cheers V6Exec
Just got back in from following your cruise control instructions, the CC works (well most of the time that is) but have noticed an intermittent dead speedo which comes back to life on it's own
, seems to be 3 steps forward and one back but heading in the right direction.
Have worked out the radio / cd control stalk but other than audio I only get eg. 250mls >>petrol, outside temp an time on the dislay. Have I got a trip computer but just not discovered it yet ? not sure still.

PS
Really glad I found this forum thx to all for your assistance and patience....
