Tom, on the end of the wiper stalk you press the << button and that flicks through the various trip computor options.

Have you found your folding mirrors and CD changer yet??? :P :P

Also did you realise you have Auto wipers???

Get some piccies for us :cheesy:

Cheers Welton
Mirrors fold in but nearside doesn't want to return so far, will try again now. :?
Wil save the auto wipers for a rainy day :cheesy:
Going out to play now
Only hassle so far seems to be the intermittent dead speedo :? , I appear to have done rather well from the auction, fingers crossed, touch wood etc etc
Will post pics later.

Intermittent dead speedo is a tad worrying - it's not something the D9 usually suffers and could point to a gremlin in the BSi unit which is not the best news ever but do not panic! just keep going until you get a feel for everything and mostly in this early stage of the car you're on red alert anyway.

I reckon you've done well here and the car's generally been well serviced (2 x cambelts :o ) but I suppose with the rising cost of fuel and maybe the iffy spedo then the last owner just caved in and traded up!....all the better for you though, they must have lost a fortune on it

Keep us posted.

Whats a 'D9' my log book just calls it a Peugeot 406 V6 estate and it's badged V6 only, no extra letters after the '406' also can't see anything about 'Exec' either though the auction described it as such. Would quite like it to be an 'Exec' :cheesy:
The speedo thing is a little worrying but will monitor, I found this when I googled 'BSI unit', not sure if it's relevant.

Found the trip comp, didn't think to look on the wiper stalk.. :?
Mirrors parked and returned successfully :D
I paid £760 at the auction fully prepared to spend 5 or £600 and still be 'quids in' if anything fell off, not sure what a BSI unit fault would cost. I assume it doesn't have a speedo cable then or am I showing my age

Its a D9 (D8 is the pre face lift).

I think the speedo problem is quite often a dry joint on the back of the clocks. I thought it normally effected d8's not than d9's thou.

Yours will be the exec, it pretty uncommon to find a v6 that isn't a exec. It will have lots of toys, like the elec memory seats, cd changer, jbl sound system (speakers and power amp in the boot). the list goes on and on and on....

That's a fine looking estate, in a good colour too!

I think the V6 was just the exec spec anyway i.e. it was the top of the range close on £22,000.00 new

£760.00 = mega bargain 8)

Dare I mention road tax & fuel prices? I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of cheap cars with big engines soon.

Yeah, I am jelous... Blah blah lpg blah cost 10 times that here blah if they existed blah. Before I die I'd love to get my feet on a car that looks like mine but actually has some go in it.

It's too old to come under the scary new tax rates :) Fuel's a bitch though especially if like me you struggle to manage 20mpg to a tank  The sound of a wide open throttle on the V6 is too addictive though...

38.5 average on the motorway on cruise control. The daily 5 mile urban run to work (biiiiiig hill!) on a cold engine nets me around 20mpg average. If I start early or leave late (all I seem to be doing nowadays) I can coax around 30mpg out of it if I don't have to touch that bothersome middle pedal
