406 HDI,starts but won't run

Hi all,first time on forum hope someone can help.I have a 406 HDI 110,bought as a non runner.It wouldn't start at first,replaced low pressure pump in tank now starts and will tick over and rev to about 3000 rpm.Try to drive it and will drive for about 10 seconds then cut out.Sometimes will start straight away,sometimes will only start once i have taken key out of ignition and put back in.Engine management light is on which i guess explains low revs,had a friend read codes on ECU came back with P0380-Glow plugs,P0560-System voltage malfunction,P0230-Fuel pump primary circuit malfunction.Could not clear codes,maybe problem with code reader.Think some codes maybe left over from low pressure pump fault but not sure.Can anyone help?

Have you replaced the pump in the fuel tank with a new or 2nd hand unit? The problem you describe is exactly the same as when my pump started to fail if you have a 2nd hand one maybe thats at fault.

Also forgot to mention there are 2 types of pump Bosch they are white and Siemens a creamy colour make sure you fitted the correct one.

Hi mate,brand new Bosch pump,car running Bosch fuel system.Had a mess with it tonight,unplugged common rail pressure sensor and car runs great but noisy!Think i need to replace pressure sensor on fuel rail,will give it a try and get back.

I'VE NEVER BEEN LOST BUT I HAVE BEEN CONFUSED FOR SEVERAL DAYS!

Sorry mate! Had my head stuck under bonnet so long not been able to log on.Pressure sensor made no difference so swapped high pressure pump regulator with one off mates HDI,now runs like a dreamJust have to nip to scrappers to get replacement and jobs a goodun! Cheers.
