Divorce v Pug 406td - Divorce wins........

Post by johnfoss »

Hi folks.

My 'lovely' wife, arranged for a special delivery on Fathers Day, yep, you got it - divorce papers.

Unfortunately, with having just visited my solicitor, to find she charges £175 + vat per hour, something has to go and this has to be my beloved and cherished Peugeot 406 GLX, 2.1td. 100% reliable (unlike my wife)

Her bodywork is far superior than my wifes and she certainly goes a lot better, theres a couple of the usual stone chips, nothing to worry about, the mileage is 142,000 and she is MOT'd til December and taxed til January 09.

Has most of the goodies required, such as digital climate control (ice cold), 4 x electric windows, electric mirrors, high powered stereo/cd, 5 x alloys and everything works and finished in a lovely metallic blue.

She's up for £900 and the car is now based in Slough near Heathrow, contact me by pm for more details, may exchange for a small auto car plus cash.

Thanks Teamster.

That's just the tip of the ice-berg, been working away from home for 3 years, only going home every 2nd weekend, to give her a comfortable lifestyle, to find she's been fleecing the account, big time! She's already managed to change the house (£350,000) into her name, giving me no claim, that's why I need to sell things for use of a solicitor. All I have is a one room bedsit and my Pug. Oh and an empty bank account!!!!

Will consider sensible offers on my Pug, but please don't insult me. Trust me I'm not in the best frame of mind at the moment

Thanks Guys.

Yes, I've got 2 daughters, aged 14 & 17yrs, that's whats hurting more than the material possessions. Been told I can go down and visit them on the 13th of July, but can't stay at the house, so got to drive 250miles in the morning and 250 back in the evening.

Appreciate your kind words, it brings reassurance that life is worth living for.

Divorce petition states "Unreasonable Behaviour" - equates to working away from home, spending to much money (because I bought Pug), even tho I take home £2 - 2,500 a month and not informing her of my every move.

Oh dear fella :(

It may not seem like it now but your kids will make up their own minds about your goodself no matter what kind of poison your old wife tries to throw at them and in time you will have a fine (and better) relationship with them because you're their Dad and to them that's all that matters.

Keep your chin up fella, and stay in touch as much as you can.

Welly.

Oh crap. I'm really sorry John, I hope it works out ok for you and your daughters. Ar least they are old enough to think for themselves and will soon be able to act for themselves.

I've watched a mate go through a divorce (and have been on telly protesting with F4J) and it got really nasty, it ended up with her solicitors forcing the sale of his house, giving her half and using the other half to pay her fees. He had two young boys and, by the time she'd finished with them, they were even terrified of ME!

I won't scare you with just how bad they are but, believe me mate, the worst thing you can possibly do, if you end up in the family court, is be in possession of a penis.

I suppose something to try is get all your bank statements with mortgage payments (especially if you've got the one where the money for your deposit came from or documents from the sale of your old house) and get your solicitor to ask her for a refund.

Sorry to hear about your woes. Your best bet is to put it on eBay (the wife, not the car). Wash it, take some nice pictures of it and give it a good description. I recently sold my 2.1TD for £951 with 145k on the clock.

Good luck :)

Slight mistake folks, cars taxed til March 09, not January as stated.

John, must you sell it? I'm struggling to think of anything else you could buy for £300/500 ish that would be remotely near "reliable" or dependable.

Given your other losses I don't think anyone would call you unreasonable in keeping hold of a sub £1K car? in your circumstances.
