Time to say goodbye

Post by johnfoss »

Hi all.

Some of you might remember my post - "Divorce v Pug 406td - Divorce wins........", well unfortunately the Divorce definately won, with a Solicitors bill of.......................£1,225 + vat  robbing ***********'s.

The 406 has been sold and my new transport is a 1.3L Mk3 Escort, it has air con due to huge quantity of holes in the bodywork and the foot spa on these rainy days is a God send  Finished in various shades of burnt orange and sporting a set of seats akin to a pair of deck chairs, this fine car will have to do.

She on the other hand has managed to keep my 2001 VW Passat tdi, laid full claim to our (sorry hers now) 250yr old cottage in Cornwall aand screw £400/month bloody maintenance

So here ends my membership to the 406OC :( I have enjoyed my short time on here and the help given by members, especially Dairees, MJB and of course Steve_earwig :D

Keep up the good work lads (and ladys) and all the best for the future

I'm really sorry to see this šhit happen to you as well John, I'm afraid nothing will change until they remove the incentives from divorce.

All the best for the future mate, remember you're definitly not alone - feel free to pop back any time you can spare the change to go online! (and pm me if you feel like donning a Batman suit :cheesy: )

Oh dear. I've seen it happen before and it's never nice. A colleague at work is paying £500 p/m maintenance.

So, is the moral of the story: don't get married?

I think the moral is have a vasectomy when you're 12. I'd go into one over this but half of you would think I was mad, most of you wouldn't believe me and I'd probably scare the carp out of poor John there (and anyone else with kids).

If there's no kids then it should just get split up 50/50 like any relationship, with the usual squabbling over the CD collection. If the house is yours then there shouldn't be any problem as the burden of proof still applies. Add kids however, and fairness and common sense take a back seat.

Hey, I know about that door, I've also demmed with MATCH.

How about after she'd disappeared with the kids, discovering she'd run your joint account an unbelievable amount into the red, finding a used condom under the bed, even though you'd never used them and then finding a bag full of syringes and needles in the cupboard. And not even being able to mention any of this in the family court, no matter how scared for your kids you now are.

Or having your daughter turn up at your extremely infequent contacts with bite marks on her arms. And not being able to even mention it.

Or coming home from your stint on the oil rig and finding she's changed all the locks and moved a new guy in, then discovering he's actually a convicted paedophile, throwning a major wobbly and having a restraining order filed against you, breaking it and being banged up.

Or breaking your restraining order by waiving to your kids when you see them on the street and being banged up for 10 months?

Sorry, that's 4 different guys, none of them me! The worst I had was an ex who used to occasionally beat me up - I never did anything about it (hey, I don't hit women) until she started smashing the windows in my house, then I called the police. They looked at her, uninjured, they looked at me, scratched and bleeding, and did the obvious thing - they arrested me. Hey, but domestic violence is all about men hitting women, right?

Sorry people, I really didn't want to go into the sort of stuff that keeps me awake at night so I'll shut up now and go take a sleeping pill.

Hi guys and gals.

Thanks for the kind words. I have had hot coffee thrown over me, a black eye, numerous bruises but never raised a hand to her. In court, she was all tears and I hate to say this and I appologise if I offend anyone, but having a female judge and her solicitor being female, everthing I said was dismissed and the wife duely awarded everything.

I look at this way, what she's got, is all materialistic, I can and will, in time rebuild it all back up.

I do get days, where I feel very alone, I'm 250 miles away from where I used to live, residing in a 15'x15' bedsit, in Slough. It will take time to make friends but it will come within time,

Anyway, sorry for sounding down, thanks again

John

It wouldn't have made any difference mate, it goes like that about 92%* of the time.

(*a good estimate as they don't like anyone knowing what they're up to)

That's the spirit mate, keep your chin up and remember who your friends are!
