Re: How to park a 206
Is it really that hard to find somewhere to park your car in Leeds?
If he'd hit that green box a lot of people would have been without cable tv for a while (better luck next time)

Nah traffic lights are usually run from a grey/black box next to the lights. That's a telco box, used primarily for patching phone lines in. Not sure if cable tv/phone/internet uses those types of box tooWelton wrote:I thought those green boxes controlled the traffic lights

Re: How to park a 206
Ask a retired BT engineer
1. that's a modern cab, BT ones are usually ancient unless they get flattened or set fire to (I really enjoyed the short time they were using plastic ones
)
2. it's got a lump of text on the end, cable companies usually have a code on theirs as opposed to BT's that just have a low number (up to about 65 unless it's an SCP, in which case it'll have a number, then a / then another number)
When I worked in Edmonton T.E. we used to get loads of reports of cabinet doors being left open and I used to have to build a job to get an engineer to go see. They were usually cable co.s, everyone else just forgot about them which I thought was a bit stupid so I found out the contacts for our opposite numbers in the cable co.s so we could pass it over to them, and they could do likewise. I still got the push though.
Not sure about the strengthening, although I don't doubt it has some, those bars across the underside are probably either the spare wheel carrier or it's got a town hitch (on a cabrio?)

Re: How to park a 206
could be to stop the roll bar ripping the car in half if it got deployed?
i am right in thinking that all soft tops must legally have a roll bar that pops up in a fraction of a second aren't i? or did i just imagine it?

Rag tops have to have stregthening underneth (normally along the sills to be fair) as they don't have the roof for strength.
