My birthday (and a moan)

Post by Welly »

It's my Birthday today (37) :)

Is it me or is it when you get older no-one gives a hoot about your birthday's anymore? :(

Not trying to be a wet blanket or anything but this year my Father (retired) stuffed a card through my letter box whilst I was at work the other day (cheers  ) one of my sisters (£60k) came round last weekend before their holiday and produced what is obviously 4 bottles of beer wrapped in birthday paper  (cheers Sis - have you forgotton when you took me to Derby in April to buy the Astra I *filled* a coolbox with drink for you both as a thank you).

My other sister (£65K) is on holiday and I haven't seen or heard from her.

What's wrong with these people? I don't want much, or anything, for that matter it would just be nice to think your family actually consider you on your birthday or once. I always make a effort with them, always :frown:

At least I've got my "virtual friends" on here   I must have at least 15 now 8)

Happy Birthday Sir Welton!

It was my birthday two weeks ago. No longer a teenager (20) - I just like to spend my bday with the family and go out with them for dinner/lunch! Spent that night out with around 30 friends at the local pub...the amount of free drinks meant that I had a fair sized hangover the next day. I don't expect people to buy me presents - if they do I will always reciprocate, it's the right thing to do!

Have a great day!

Happy bathday young Welters :cheesy:

Can't say it bothers me much, it's nice if people remember but that's about it. As for presents, I'm really not fussed. More socks?

Actually, that's something I've been thinking about for a while, Christmas presents - all that money that gets spent every year on stuff no-one really wants, wouldn't it be better if we bought ourselves something we really wanted but couldn't really justify the expense, then just thanked everyone we met?

Ok, there's kids, maybe there could be broken toy shops to save all the fuss and the noise these toys make before they inevitably go wrong.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I stopped giving a crap about birthdays about the same time everyone else did - around 16... If I remember, I'll go out at the weekend and get extra drunk, but that's been about the extent of it for the last 10+ years
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Oh well - perhaps I'm going all soft and squidgy in my old age

I'm going home for the afternoon and the kids will get some nice Daddy time (and looking at the weather forecast this is the best day this week :P )

See ya!!!

Thanks or the replies 8)
