follow me home lights

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

follow me home lights

Post by Black Pearl »

Adoo all,

are me again n the black pearl. Now everythings running ok with no knocks rattles and ponds to be found, i had a little scan through the owners manual, like ya do when ya waiting for ya girlfriend to finish work and i stumbled across a little thing called " follow me home lighting mode " from what the instruction reads like, when you lock your car the headlights stay on for a minute or so ( dependant on light of the surroundings i imagine with auto headlamps ), so you can see where your going in the dark. Thoughtful i thought but the instruction they give is a bit er, cack. it read like press button 1 with your little finger on your right hand whilst opening and closing the glovebox with your left index finger. vague to say the least. I was wondering if anyone is successful in making this nice little french thoughtful doo dad work and could supply me with some better french-to-english translation. I only found out bout a week ago, since its a very small paragraph tucked away in lights and illumination id imagine not many people actually know its there. 8)

I know it's there, I just can't see any use for it. I suppose if I parked the car in the middle of my front lawn I could see my way to the front door but I don't think I'll get it up the steps to my back terrace to illuminate my back one.

on mine, after switching the engine off, flash the lights (flick to main beam briefly) and they stay on headlights for about a minute. I have the auto-lights switched on on mine, if that makes a difference.

Can't remember what the manual says now, but I remember it definitely being wrong.

ah ill give that a go, as them instructions are different to the ones i remember doin what the instruction said, to what i could fathom out but it didnt work. I know its in the realms a gadgety or gimmicky sorta thing but i often visit a mariner as me mate lives on the canal and i dont fancy fallin in the cut and bustin me head off a shopping trolley or a discarded bag o domestic pets as its quite dark and the follow me home jobby would help me out a fair bit :cheesy:
