Car is booked in for tomorrow morning as it's decided to start indicating left all the time.
Trying to lift the stalk to cancel it out has stopped working as it just makes it indicate both ways at the same time.
I feel sorry for all the poor bastards that had no idea where I was going this morning
I guess they knew it was probably electrical related with the car being French.
Sigh... one of those days, just wondering what other random electrical gremlins will crop up next
The car is fine tbh.
Apart from this issue and the squealing front brake, immobiliser light when not started the way it likes it, and the fuel gauge sometimes dropping to 0 before creeping back up over a few miles.
lol
Sounds worse than it is.
At least the Climate control works great (apart from it doesn't blow on feet anymore)
I'll give the hazard lights a go.
Still looking at a new car though, the 406 has been very good to me but with my looming redundancy paying off a few of our debts so we'll have quite a bit spare each month and the fact I've already got a higher paid job lined up I might as well get something new and a bit more fun.
Got to fix the indicator first though, no one is going to buy a car that indicates left all the time
I think the usual problem with the D9 stalk is something breaks inside and it has a mind of it's own. If it still feels normal then the hazard switch - I had the same fault on the evil Ni$$an, with the ignition off the hazard switch only flashed one side (can't remember which). I never got round to fixing it but it was intermittant and was working fine when I finally managed to shift the curs'd thing (and traded it for the D9 )

Yeah the stalk feels fine.
It started as intermittent and lifting the stalk slightly would generally fix it.
Now of course it happens more often than not and the old lifting the stalk trick has stopped working.
Just had a play with it.
Hazards work fine and if the left indicator stops for a moment, the slightest touch anywhere on the stalk or even at the base of it sets it off again.
So I guess it's the stalk.
