Come on you two - I'll take you to the park

Post by Welly »

Saddled with 2No. bored kids inbetween the rainy times yesterday we ventured off to our (newly refurbished) park.

When I'd finished picking up the shards of glass from the safety surface and placing them in the bin (before some toddler gets a bit in their knee) and after I'd finished reading all the (newly written) urban profanities I finally got to enjoy some time with the tea pot lids

A group of 4 lads (about 12 yrs old) on bikes popped by and started saying "f*cking" etc in front of my Daughter so they got "the look" from me and later left shouting something like "posh twat" as they peddled off :| Then 2 girls of around 9 years old (my daughter recognised them from the year below her at primary school) started say "f*cking bastard" and "sh*t" all the time. They also got "the look".

But what is wong with everyone? is it me? I truely dred what these people (and their kids) will be like in years to come :frown: and I live in rural village so god knows what the city kids are like

And where were the parents? I suppose they were too busy drinking strong cider and shagging each other to notice where the kids had gone - not to worry though as the kids mostly had mobiles so that's ok then

Probably victims of the divorce industry (no dad, no discipline).

It's usually ok here, apart from her neighbour's mental kids, but there was a wee bit of trouble a while back. Her house is behind the village firehouse (god knows what they'd do if there was an actual fire as they seem to have turned the place into a party venue). Anyway, a couple of months ago the guy who runs it was on holiday and had obviously left the keys with an irrisponsible adult - kids managed to get hold of them and had an unsuprevised party. About 2 am there was the sound of breaking glass so I went out there and found a load of broken bottles. I started picking them up but I saw one of the kids and asked him who broke the bottles "It wasn't me it was so-and-so", so I asked him why. At this point he noticed a broken bottle in my hand, legged it inside and locked the doors. Then another neighbour camer out and started having a go so I got my camera and took a pic, at which point they all ran off home. I was dead keen on calling the cops but Božena, who's only lived in the village for 5 years and still qualifies as an outsider (seriously) didn't want to make trouble. :frown: We all cleared up the glass in the morning, however we left the puddles of puke for the rain to deal with.

Discipline? HA!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manc ... 558560.stm

I'm never bringing a kid up in this f*cked up excuse of a country

Oh, and take a look at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7567193.stm
almost 10% said they had cameras in their school's toilets.
But that's ok, soon nobody's going to bother training to become a teacher. Why?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/oxfo ... 535826.stm
Because any kid can now hold a teacher to ransom. "Let me off the detention else I'll say you touched me". Doesn't matter if it's true or a blatant lie - it's unemployment time.

actually tbh our eldest has one in his room along with a gamecube and he doesn't use it unless he asks first the more worrying thing for me is mobiles and blutooth i went through his phone a month ago and found some very interesting and unsavoury stuff on there he got a masive bol&^%ng and grounded for ages but how many parents really don't know what their kids actually have on their mobiles

I've got all that to come, my eldest son starts school next month!
I've never had a console in the house and I'll put it off as long as I can! Ben loves drawing and playing with his lego :)

I won't let my 12 year old son have one yet :| I consider we will "loose" him once he gets started will all that stupid texting crap

There's only a handful of them without mobiles in his year now but even he agreed that he doesn't really need a mobile for the purpose a mobile is intended i.e. making calls in an emergency  I'll have to give in eventually though I suppose but who'd have thought 10 years ago that 10/12 year olds would all have their own mobiles? I mean, just what is so important at that age to need one :?

He's even been called "poor" for not having one

Nightmare, the wonders of "peer pressure", in my day it was designer clothes which my parents really couldn't afford (they had a massive mortgage) so I suspect they were rather pleased I didn't give a toss, but I can understand how it could put kids at a disadvantage and mark them out as "odd" (they all thought I was odd anyway :cheesy: ).

My nephew's just got a mobile after a great deal of pleading and whining, he's 10, he sends me all sorts of daft texts and pictures. I don't actually mind hearing from him but I just hope my brother's got him a pay-as-you go so he gets to understand that this sort of thing can cost real money. Thinking about it, he's not sent me anything for almost a week...

Same here, you were a nobody without an Ocean Pacific? top I seem to remember. Even Farrah trousers did thier rounds for a couple of years

My last two years at school (college) 14 to 16yrs old was a non uniform school so the fashion/trainers thing was a joke. My parents couldn't afford anything and I couldn't give a toss either way.

Luckily my Son's next 4 years are at Uniform Only schools so black trousers, shoes and shirt are the norm which is GREAT for parents.

Unless they're an odd size... I dunno, I hated having to wear it, I hated having to keep it clean. It made the whole school experience even more unpleasant for me. Shades of Hitler Youth...

well ive had a mobile in my pocket since i went to "big school" (about 9 years now)
as for designer clothes, as a 20 year old, i always wear brand names: George @ ASDA; Florence & Fred for Tesco; decathlon and aldi/lidl for walking and other sports.
other than that im in uniform for cdts, so blue trousers and shirt and bulled shoes, or dpm trousers and shirt with black boots.
at school tho i was the only kid in my year that had a single crease up the front and back of my trousers, an a crease up each sleeve joined by one across the back, but that is what a couple of years in the air training corps does for you!

Playstation wise, i do have every one released by sony, so: PSX, thats the big grey box; PS2, the big black one; PS3, the latest one that does everything but cook clean and teach; and a PSP, the hand-held one. But i have paid for all of them with my hard earned readdies!!
The answers no!

Now whats the question?

They both carried on drinking their carling.
