Bunch of mofos!
Hello,
Rant time. For the THIRD time, I have been given a parking ticket for parking on the yellow line during lunch time, which is when there's a parking restriction. I have paid the previous two fines promptly-ish (£50x2!!!!!) but I am getting really pissed off with having to fund the Redbridge council through parking fines. Anyway, just out of interest, what would happen if I don't pay the ticket? There's 50% "off" for paying within 2 weeks, after which I have to cough up £100. So what happens after 28 days?
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
(This is why I hate London!!!!)

Did you think about not parking on the yellow line during lunchtime? Or am I missing the point?

Court summons, costs, costs, court summons, costs, balifs, costs, that's what.Angry Jack wrote:So what happens after 28 days?
Your £50.00 fine will magically become a £742.15 fine

They are annoying though and they employ horrid tactics like hiding/watching you and CCTV instead of the old fashioned "move along sir".
Councils use it as a way to boost income - to pay for luxury biscuits a their many meetings

Don't I know it. NEVER assume that because you've handed over card details over the phone you're in the clear. I made that mistake and a couple of days later I went to go to work and found the car clamped with a sticker on the windscreen saying if it wasn't released by 8am it's be towed. I had to borrow just shy of £400 to get it freed upWelton wrote:Court summons, costs, costs, court summons, costs, balifs, costs, that's what.

Because I mentioned that I was working in Manchester at the time, they clamped it at "about 3am".

Should've told them to keep the carmjb wrote:£400.00

I saw a programme recently and they were saying it was kind of illegal to clamp a car if the owner hadn't consented to being clamped beforehand and you're within your rights to smash or cut the f*cker off. Only trouble then though is that you dip your toe in the criminal damage waters wth the clampers

Chop it off, stuff it in the boot and plead ignorance when they say something - "you sure it was my car you clamped?"

The yellow line is there for a reason. Don't park on it and avoid the fine.Captain Jack wrote:Hello,

Don't give the council any more reason to get money out of you.

Re: Bunch of mofos!
id pay it if i was you , i wish i did
. im on in court on the 24th of september for 17 unpaid parking fines totaling just over a £1000
( and thats not including the 30 or so others that i have paid in the past few years ) . where i used to live was permit only parking ( just ask neil davies ) but the council would only issue 2 permits per house , but when ur mother and father got a car each and i add a 3rd car to the house i dont think it was fair that i wasnt allowed to park outside my house ( there really was no where else to park within a quarter of a mile ) especially when you pay so much fooking council tax that i refused to pay them
. i have been told by a solicitor that if i refuse to pay them when i go to court i will more than likely end up with a 12 month prison sentence
so i got to go in front of the magistrate to tell them how much im going to pay each week .

Re: Bunch of mofos!
Thanks for the replies peeps. I thought as much. Thing is, this yellow line has a restriction ONLY from 2-3pm Mon-Fri outside my gf's house and I ALWAYS forget to move the car from the night before - this is my 3rd ticket on the same street issued by the same no-life tosser.
Grrrr...
Darren, that really sucks for you. I thought I had it bad!
