Hi all

Post by Selekta »

Hi all,

My names Matt, i'm from Australia and i've just picked up a wrecked '99 D9 406 ST (2 litre 5 speed). It's had a front ender. I'm building it to enter AutoSalon next year (http://www.autosalon.org) so plans are a splash of paint, some shiny wheels in 19" or 20", trimmed interior, stupid amounts of ICE and maybe bags.

I also own a '91 405 Mi16 and an '81 Mazda RX7 with a 13BT in it.

Catchyas.

Hi there Matt :cheesy:

Will you be fixing the car before you paint it? :P

That MI16 is getting rather long in the tooth, I had Citroens with that lump in but they're long dead by now. How's it going? How many horses is the 13BT? And how many litres per mile? :(

Yes she will be fixed before she's painted.

My rotor is just nudging 300hp at the rears and gets about 6.5MPG.

My Mi16 is running great, 160,000km's on her, very reliable and still pulls strong. Quicker than the 406

It's ok, I saw the other thread now

6.5 mpg  So it does about 75 miles a tank, or is that one for the track?

And you're surpised she's quicker??

405 is lighter and has more power, so i'm not surprised it's quicker, but it is almost 10 years older than the 406...

I drive the rotor every day, I hit a kangaroo in the 405 so haven't had it for quite some time (but I get it back Monday!).

Petrol here is very cheap, only about $1.40 a litre (45p per litre) so I can afford to drive it every day!

I'm from Austria, but I live in Australia, so I appreciate the cheap fuel here (by using it all  )
