406 is dead !!

Post by bombhead »

Hiya, I have a Y reg 406 2.0 HDI 90. It was working perfectly fine a few days ago and I went to start it yesterday and got Engine Immobiliser fault and ABS fault. I also have no radio or lights or basically any electrics (and the dash lights are very faint). The past few weeks all I've done is quick 1 mile journeys. Could a dead battery be the cause of this ?

Welcome bombhead! :D
It does sound like a flat battery, especially as the dash lights are dim.
Be careful if you're going to jump start it as the bsi can be fried very easily.

It does indeed (or a bad connection?) Best not to jump start it really (the Black Box of Doom is already angry). It could be the short journeys aren't enough to give it a proper charge.
