406 front end prang.

Discuss the 406's Bodywork stuff in here (what parts fit what, what can be interchanged with what etc etc).

406 front end prang.

Post by Selekta »

Hi all.

My 406: I picked her up for $900.

Can probably see why it was so cheap.

Anyway, i've stripped it down now, i'm getting it ready to rebuild the front end. I need a new bumper, 2 new foglights, a headlight, radiator shroud and a few little plasticy bits... which would be fine if I was in the UK. Unfortunately, i'm in Australia, and finding bits for a 406 is not that easy, but i'm hoping through this site I might be able to find a breaker who will ship overseas. (for foglights etc)

Chassis is a bit bent, but nothing too bad.

Ouch! That's pretty mangled :( Keep the pictures comming tho, will be interesting to see how you get on. :cheesy:

I'm not sure about the breakers, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I don't think the UK breakers would be up for mailing stuff abroad but I'm sure the chaps there can help you get hold of stuff. (hmm, I need some bits too :? :cheesy: )

Hi, i would suggest e bay. There is always plenty of breakers on there. Not to sure aboutr shipping abroad though. I would suggest waving large amounts of money and i think they would ship abroad no problems :cheesy:

They usually say UK only :( Best to work out the shipping and find someone who'll help you out (don't ask my brother :x )

We have a breakers here in Silverend,UK 01376 583592,that i know is breaking 2 of these,1 in silver and the other in red, they may be worth a call.but i would think that the cost of shipping on a pallet would probably be prohibitive, depends on what you want to spend really ?I do know that at the moment both these front ends are complete. If you have a list of the things that you want i can check out the prices and shipping if you have no luck.best of luck and regards Ray

Shipping bits as a consignment (like a Royal Mail parcel) would cost a fortune I think.

A pallet box, loaded into a container being loaded for Aus' would be considerably more affordable, but would take a lot longer. Weeks rather than days. If you can afford the wait though.

Still might be worth it, rather than buying new stuff ($$$).
