Do you know if your electric fuel pump is working :?:
Pump can be intermitently faulty as Steve suggests.
Second possibility - my previous HDi Citreon died, then recovered several times before stopping altogether.
Eventually found no power to pump, connected directly to battery to test - started 1st time.
Fuses Ok, swapped relay - still the same.
Never got to root cause, but proved 2 sections of loom which should have been connected weren't, so joined them.
No problems in following 2 years.

It's a shame really, they used to make some good cars.

My mate had a 02 plate Laguna estate, went on holiday in 2006 and when he came back his front driver side shock absorber spring had snapped whilst being parked.

He also had to spend £2000 in other bits to keep it going.

Now that sounds like quality to me.
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!

Don't forget all that Diesel-less cranking over will not do the HP pump any good :|

Recently we had a spate of snapped springs, maybe it's LP pump time now :(

My Mk.1 Laguna had worse build quality than a toy car that came from a Kinder Surprise.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
