Reasons to be embarrassed... 1..2..3..4..5.....

Post by mjb »

My key's batteries went flat at work today. Got to the car park and found myself unable to open the car. 5 minutes later realised there's a lock on the door, turn it, *click*, open the door, *WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOO*

Alarm stops after 30 secs, put the key in the ignition, turn, *WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOO*

Drive to the cashpoint, stop the engine, get out, *WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOO*

Get back to the car, unlock, open the door, *WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOO*

Start the engine, *WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOO*

Get to Halfords, stop the engine, get out, *WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOO*

Get some new batteries for bloody £7 quid, realise I didn't get anything out of the car to pry the key open... *WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOO*

D'OH!

Then I went to the petrol station and put a measly 70.02 litres in. Could have gone another day before filling up!

Interestingly, this saloon's alarm siren seems to be mounted around the o/s/r wing, not the front passenger door like the estate. Wonder why that is... Bet some smartarse is now going to tell me it's because of the cutoff key switch in the boot, and then they'll tell me the door/ignition key is the key to disable it...

Oh dear m, I suppose you deadlocked it then in the morning?

Funny alarm that lets you drive the car though!

I always do - it's habit

The immobiliser works off a passive (as in powered wirelessly by the car) RF transponder in the key. At least I hope to hell my Exec's got an immobiliser! I guess I'm going to have to dig out the spare key and remove the transponder to check

What's up with the smileys today?

I take it there's no keypad in the V6 Matt? There must be a transponder chip in the key I guess for the immob?

Smiley's look ok here :?

No keypad on the V6, just a little pull-down tray perfectly sized for an emergency pack of 20 fags and a lighter

First aid kit? Just under my seat sir or madam (not sure which you look somewhat androgynous - it's an old bmw kit - no it's not out of date - no I checked it, it's good till 2010. I'll be happy to bandage your vile mouth shut you pissant pillock. OK you just want to be sick then? I'll stop shall I? It'll cost you 50 quid cleaning plus loss of my earnings else...! Oh, you don't think that's fair? Why not? You've f@@ked my night up. You have! Not some god or fate or providence! And no I won't take your half eaten kebab/pizza in part payment you pompous oaf, I'm allergic to cheese you grrrr unspeakable grrr.
