Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Door courtesy lights

Post by HDiAndy »

Took me till today to notice this, long story short- when i fitted my leathers and door cards i hooked the courtesy lights up using the plugs already kindly provided by Pug, but for some reason when you open the door they don't illuminate, is there a fuse needs plugged in to make them work or something? checked all 4 doors all the same

the door card lights are controlled by the bsi there are 2 ways to get them workin first one take it too peugeot and they will plug it in too there computer and tell the bsi that the lights are there or you can wire them up to the lights in the roof lining but this is very tricky to do hope this helps you

Only if it's a D9. If it's a D8 the chances are there's wires missing from the main under-dash loom as there appears to be a different set of looms for each trim/spec level
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Sadly yes it is a D9 and i can't really justify parting with cash for Pug to reprogramme it. besides which i'm tempted to go back to a cloth Rapier interior as leathers bloody freezin at this time of year!!

i'd be very interested to hear how it goes, after the soul destroying job of doing the motors i didn't want to attempt the heated bits and besides i never had the switch gear either.
