open bonnet , remove plastic cover that sits over pollen filter, remove pollen
filter you should then be able to see the fan,if you then press the rec button
a flap will close the fan off if the flap is already there then pressing the button
should make it open. No movement either way usually means motor is goosed
or teeth have stripped.Fix it in open position job done i never use it

Thanks Puggy 8) 8)

I thought it was more complex than that? on a 406. The same as a 405 then :D

So if its goosed is it easy to open manually and leave it in that positon?

Car is going to the garage sat for its cambelt change so I will have a look then as it will be daylight.

I never use it either but as car has been steming up recently I have been pressing and trying anything

Or having all windows down and heater on full

I wouldn't be surprised if it's stuck in recirc as you seem to be getting far to much misting.

I use mine a fair bit, especially if following a stinky old car (smokey Joe).

In fact I'm convinced that with Peugeot interiors/electrics you NEED to use them regular otherwise they break.

Yes thats what im thinking welly. As you use yours regular how can you tell its working apart from looking under the bonnet? As it will be dark when I finish work.

You can just about hear it moving but another way is to put the fan on full blast and listen for a change in air velocity when the recirc damper moves to it's final position (fully open/closed) - do all this with the engine off.

Have to say have notice a noise when have the fan on full blast whan you change the temperature form 14 to 30 having been playing a lot with settings recently. Or is that just due to the change of temperature? heater exchange and the recirc flap?

Well going from 14 to 30 WILL call for the recirc flap to operate so it may be working anyway (the c/c operates the flap itself if it thinks it should to aid faster cooling etc).

I have just gone out to the car no air con on no climate control on. Fan on full blast not on auto, 14 to 30 and you can hear some kind of flap moving.

So it could be back to the fact the pollen/cabin filter is very old and very damp

Fingers crossed :(

Well yeah, the cc panel doesn't control the engine's coolant temperature  It's redirecting the air through the heater matrix or not

Yes I know that. I was refering to setting the climate at 14 to 30

Problem solved. It was the recirc flap had stuck closed.

Manually opened it disconnected the flap's motor as it no longer works. Problem solved.

Thanks for everyones help Rappy 8)
